This brooch has been hand carved from European lime wood and hand painted with water-based wood dyes and acrylic paint. The wood is also sealed with Danish oil* for water resistance and added lustre
The brooch is backed with a brooch pin and housing measuring 5cm / 2 inches across. The bird’s wings are hinged to the body with a soft cord joint for added flexibility when worn. This brooch would best suit a lover of chunky, statement jewellery!
This piece is a unique craft items and cannot be mass produced. It comes packaged in a cardboard presentation box with an A6 greeting card.
ALLERGEN ADVICE
*This piece has been treated with Rustins Danish oil, which conforms to The Articles in Contact with Food Regulations and to the Toys (Safety) Regulations 1995, BS:EN71 Part 3. However, please be aware that Rustins Danish Oil contains tung oil which is extracted from nuts. It is therefore not recommended for severe nut allergy sufferers. In rare cases Danish Oil can also cause skin irritations.
Caring For Your Piece
Wood is a porous material and you should therefore avoid exposing your necklace to wet or damp conditions. If desired, you can re-treat the wood with either danish oil or beeswax polish every 1-2 years, which will help to maintain its lustre. When treating the wood, make sure to wipe away any excess oil or polish, especially from areas coated with acrylic paint.

International Orders (USA, Canada) will be sent with Royal Mail's International Tracked service. This should take up to 7 working days to arrive following dispatch.
